On May 11 at «Rosa Khutor» resort the 2013/2014 winter season was officially over
The lifts, which are now closed for scheduled maintenance, will be available again to guests since June 7.
The season 2013/2014 will be remembered as the season of discoveries. Having started with heavy snowfall on December 14, 2013, skiing season for all amateurs lasted until January 6. For guests’ convenience the new gondola lift “Strela” was launched, connected directly the Rosa Valley and the spot Rosa-1600.
From January 7 to March 21 the ski lifts and trails of the resort were closed for preparing and holding of Russia's first ever Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. During the 2014 Olympics 30 sets of medals were awarded on the slopes “Rosa Khutor”, at that 5 medals — two gold, one silver and two bronze – were won by Russian athletes. Many of these awards were won by Russian athletes for the first time: the first-ever Olympic bronze medal in mogul for the last 20 years was brought by Alexander Smyshlyaev, Nikolay Olyunin picked up baton of Russian champions, becoming the silver medalist in snowboard cross. Further 3 medals – 2 gold and one silver – in the parallel giant slalom and parallel slalom were won by the married couple of snowboarders Vic Wild and Alena Zavarzina.
Russian Paralympic team continued the winner’s triumph at “Rosa Khutor”: 16 medals were won by our athletes on the slopes of the resort. Winner names: Alexandra Frantceva — five medals among visually impaired skiers, Alexey Bugaev — five medals among athletes, competing in the standing category, Valery Redkozubov — three medals in visually impaired category, Inga Medvedev — two silver medals in women standing category.
Tourism skiing season at «Rosa Khutor» continued on March 22, 2014 and lasted May 11, all the time — from December to May — the record number of guests, nearly 180 000 people, visited the resort.

On May 12, the resort lifts are closed for preventive maintenance and will be opened in the new summer season, the beginning of which is scheduled for June 7, 2014.
In summer 2014 the ascent to the highest scenic viewpoint in Sochi – the Rosa Peak lift station (2320 meters above sea level) will be available to the resort guests. It's planned to resume hiking tours around the mountain slopes and rock climbing that offered guests last year. Also planned to develop trails for mountain biking and much more.
