On the 6th of January the winter skiing season was officially over
On the 6th of January “Rosa Khutor” resort ended the winter skiing season for the amateurs of skiing and snowboarding. From the 7th of January the ski area will be closed to the public for preparing and holding the XXII Winter Olympic and XI Paralympic Games of 2014.
Several records were achieved at “Rosa Khutor” ski resort during its work. Thus, for a period of 3 weeks since the opening of the 14th of December 2013, 83 500 guests visited “Rosa Khutor” resort.
For the first time in history of the resort on the 2nd of January it was sold more than 4 thousand only excursion tickets throughout the day. And three days after, on 5th of January, it was sold 8 200 ski passes throughout the day, the maximum amount of tickets for one working day of the resort.
At that day all visitors were surprised with a launching of the new cableway «Strela», which quickly and comfortably brings passengers directly from the Rosa Valley to the spot «Rosa-1600». The new lift will significantly increase the throughout capacity of «Rosa Khutor» ski complex.
Today, Rosa Khutor's ski area is closed to the public in order to prepare for holding the XXII Winter Olympic and XI Paralympic Games. At the same time the Rosa Valley with its restaurants, cafes, shops, covered ice skating rink is open and ready to welcome everyone. During the Olympic Games in front of the Ratusha building on the Rosa square Live Site will be installed, where in real time live broadcasts of the Olympic competitions, the concerts of local celebrities, on-stage activities will take place.
On the 22nd of March a few days after the ending of the main sports event of every four year, “Rosa Khutor” resort will re-open its trails for tourists.
