Top representatives of FIS visit Rosa Khutor ski resort
A FIS commission arrived in Rosa Khutor ski resort with a final inspection visit. The purpose of the visit is to evaluate the status of preparation of the Alpine complex and the personnel for the XXII Winter Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi.
The FIS delegation included: Gunter Hujara – chief race director of World Cup in Alpine Skiing Men, Atle Skardal – chief race director of World Cup in Alpine Skiing Women, Hans Pieren – race director of World Cup in Alpine Skiing Men, Markus Mayer — race director of World Cup in Alpine Skiing Women. They were accompanied by the representatives of Rosa Khutor ski resort, Alpine Skiing and Snowboard Federation of Russia and Organization Committee Sochi-2014.
During the visit special attention was paid to the inspection of men and women’s Olympic runs and the single finishing zone for all Alpine disciplines.
Gunter Hujara, chief race director of World Cup in Alpine Skiing Men, said about the visit: “All the planned infrastructure facilities on the mountain, necessary to organize the Olympic Games, are completed. There are small problems which I am sure will be solved. We are ready even today and the only thing lacking to start the competitions is snow and cold”.
