Rosa Khutor resort is a major venue of the Winter Olympic Games 2014

On the 4th of July of 2007 in Guatemala during the 119th session of the International Olympic Committee the city of Sochi was chosen to become the capital of the XXII Winter Olympic Games and the XI Winter Paralympic Games in the year 2014. Rosa Khutor company is responsible for the construction of the following Olympic venues: Alpine Ski Center, Extreme Park (includes snowboard park and freestyle center) and the Mountain Olympic Village.

UNIQUENESS OF THE RESORT

Rosa Khutor is a completely unique ski resort. It has already become a great ski sport center in Europe and a venue to international competitions of the highest level. The overall length of the Olympic ski runs homologated by the International Ski Federation (FIS) is of 13 kilometers.

MAXIMAL COMFORT

The Mountain Olympic Village, built in Alpine style, is situated in the near proximity of the Alpine Ski Center, the Freestyle Center and the Snowboard park. The territory of the village is of 32 hectars. All the requirements of the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee were followed during its construction, with the maximal comfort of the athletes in mind.

INTERNATIONAL LEVEL

Rosa Khutor complex is a compact set of venues for competitions on 15 Olympic disciplines of alpine ski, snowboard and freestyle. Unique climatic conditions, special properties of the snow and FIS-homologated ski runs will ensure Rosa Khutor's future as the host of international competitions of the highest level.

OLYMPIC SEASON

Olympic games are the biggest sports event of every four years. Hundreds of athletes prepare for those starts for their whole lives. The contemporary Olympic Games have a thousand years of history and now have reached the peak of their popularity. The slopes of Rosa Khutor will bear competitions for 30 sets of Olympic medals in 15 sports disciplines.

The Games 2014 in Sochi will become one of the biggest events in the country's life that will leave all Russians with a priceless sports heritage for future generations of athletes and for the whole Olympic movement.

ROSA KHUTOR OLYMPIC VENUES

 
 

ALPINE SKI CENTER

Construction finished in 2010. In February 2011 the ski runs of the Rosa Khutor Alpine Ski Center received the first test competitions of the pre-Olympic cycle. A unique feature of this Alpine center is the common finishing zone for the competitions in all the alpine disciplines.  

 
 

EXTREME PARK: SNOWBOARD PARK AND FREESTYLE CENTER

Built at the end of 2011. In February and March 2012 Rosa Khutor Extreme park welcomed its first official competitions. The Extreme park includes a snowboard park and a freestyle center and is situated to the West from the Rosa Plateau location at an altitude of 1100-1200 meters above sea level.

 
 

MOUNTAIN OLYMPIC VILLAGE

Built towards the end of the year 2013. During the Olympics the athletes will live at the same altitude as the competitions will take place. This is exteremely important for their best adaptation to the climate and altitude conditions, so the Olympic Games in Sochi promise to harvest a lot of new records!
